Pain Management
Pain is never there without reason. Pain is a form of obstruction to the flow of: blood, lymph, or nutrients in the affected area. Such obstruction of flow will start under oxidation and or degeneration of the area. The effect will become what we perceive as pain. Pain
is where most of ones' money is being wasted in today's medicine. Pain management clinics have mushroomed everywhere, and drug companies make big bucks on steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Of course this will not bring any conclusion to pain, if the underlying problem is not addressed.
Most common cases with pain that are presented in my clinic are: fybromyalgia, osteo-arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, cancer, injuries, and unspecified aches that result from anxiety and/or depression. I have never seen any of these conditions being successfully healed by orthodox medical treatments. The reason for that is drugs relieve rather than get rid of the problem. If you choose to continue relieving symptoms with drugs, that can eventually lead to other problems.
In my medical and naturopathic background I have never seen a faster way to regenerate and heal organs and all systems in the body, than by using plants. Plants were created on Earth for feeding and healing. If you have pain, my message to you is: Don't get drugged, don't fall in love with it - Get rid of it!!!!!
Herbal Pain Medication
Most people suffer from acute, recurring, or chronic pain at some point in their lives. There are hundreds of different medications available for people to reduce pain symptoms. However, more and more people are realizing that these medications are not treating the real cause of their pain, or are causing such severe side-effects that have a negative overall impact on quality of life. To remedy this, more people are looking for natural or herbal pain medication.
There are many herbs available to treat different types of pain. Ginger is one of the many herbs used. It is an anti-inflammatory, making it very helpful in relieving arthritis. Ginger can also help relieve and prevent headaches, and it helps relieve stomachaches and nausea. Ginger has no known side-effects.
Turmeric is an herbal pain medication and spice commonly found in Indian food. It’s another anti-inflammatory that can relieve arthritis pain. It can also help people suffering from heartburn. Turmeric does not have any serious side-effects, though people with any type of gallbladder disease should not take it. Feverfew and butterbur both help with migraine headaches, though butterbur can cause liver problems if the toxins are not removed. Feverfew is also helpful in relieving stomachaches, rheumatoid arthritis, and toothaches. Peppermint is known to help relieve tension headaches and help with irritable bowel syndrome pain as well.
Ginseng helps with fibromyalgia, and valerian root can help relive muscle spasms and cramps. Kava kava relieves tension headaches and neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain can also be reduced by St. Johns wort. This herb also helps with sciatica and arthritis pain.
Cayenne can help with pain resulting from arthritis, because it contains capsaicin which is a pain relieving chemical. This herb also makes your body release endorphins, which are your body’s natural defense against pain. Capsaicin, which can also be found in hot chili peppers, can also be used topically to help relieve pain.
Another herbal pain medication is devil’s claw. It’s good for relieving arthritis pain and lower back pain. This herb comes from South Africa and has no serious side-effects, though it should not be taken by pregnant women or people with gallstones, intestinal or stomach ulcers.
Willow bark is another herb that eases pain and has been used for hundreds of years in China and Europe. It helps relieve lower back pain and osteoarthritis, as well as headaches and inflammation. Willow bark causes less side-effects than anti-inflammatory pills, though it may cause some stomach problems. Before taking any herbs for pain, you should consult a pain specialist to make sure it is safe.
